SCRIPTWRITING AND FUNDING

my script contains the dialogue of the characters. A film that is similar to our film which is the one that inspired us is called missing. The film was financed by a variety of sources including government agencies, private foundations , and agencies that is where the money for the film comes from.

CASE STUDY

my chosen film is called missing. the history behind the film is about how a mother suddenly went missing during a vacation in Columbia with her new boyfriend, so her daughter tries to find her and a plot twist occurs the kidnapper is Junes supposedly dead father who kidnapped the mom in order to reconnect with his daughter. The target audience is for teens and young adults who are into tech.

The production process included the cast members Storm Reid, Nia Long, Ken Leung, Megan Suri, Thomas Barbusca, Joaquim de Almedia, Daniel Henney, Amy Landecker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and many more but these were the main actors.

The film was distributed by Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Releasing, and Regal films.

The marketing process was mainly advertised by itself because of its unique storyline the movie drew in many people just because of that

The film was cross media convergence.

questions

Some production companies are A24, Warner Bros, Shudder, Starz entertainment, and Blumhouse productions. They should choose us because our film was inspired by missing which did great and had amazing plot. I would produce with a larger company to get my film more known. If a movie was producted by a low company people might be less attracted to your movie. i would sell film to make a ton of money. A distribution company i would choose is Magnolia pictures. My film would be presented in the movie theater.

POSTPRODUCTION

To make the connection between the elements and to enhance the storytelling. The technology hat we used was a iphone 15 to record the film and a ipad to edit the film. I learned  little bit about the sound technologies used in postproduction. They're were no sources consulted during this film. The conventions used during this film were dark colors, not much light and eerie sounds added to it. We added sound effects and the fade in/out zoom in/out to the film to match the thriller genre. We added eerie sound effects from an app. we changed around the color correction to darken the recording making the film appear darker than it actually is. They're were no influences involved in editing certain shots.

PRODUCTION

i will use a phone to record and maybe a laptop to edit not much technology will be used besides this.. I did not learn much about production technologies besides how to use the camera to get the right movement and angle for the scene. The movie that influenced us to make our film is called missing The movie is about how the mom got kidnap during a vacation by the father in an attempt to reconnect with his daughter but our is with a twist the person who is kidnapped gets revenge. So we took the kidnapping part from it and put our own little parts to it. Some difficulties encountered were trying to create the best scene we could. My A-ah moments or learning experience was when I had to plan or do the storyboard because it was a new thing to me. Some changes that were made was a prop we included in the end of the film. The prop we included was a bat that was used as a weapon.

PREPRODUCTION

The film locations will be in a stair case and a classroom because this is where all the conflict will be.

Their will be 3 people acting in the film because these people have an impact on the films plot. The considerations needed is when can the actors be here to film the scenes. my film will look mostly dark or dim lighting when filming the conflict scenes. it will feel mysterious. The movies sounds will be the original sounds created during that scene.

No extra sounds will be recorded during the film. The storyboard for my film includes the main parts of the scene like the setting the conflict and the characters. The shooting schedule for the film will be during the school days. The technology needed for the film will be just a phone for recording.

INTRODUCTION

The kind of movie I am making is a thriller/mystery movie. The basic conventions of my movie is the mood of the film will scary and suspenseful and there will be 3 characters in the movie. The opening sequence of films of my genre looks like it introduces the main character to the audience. The opening scene does reveal to much of the film by only showing the main character and problem of the film and that's it. Not a lot of action happens in the first 2 minutes of the film.

The settings of other films of my genre varies some can be in ordinary places and some can be in asylums or abandoned house. The targeted audience for my film is people 17 and older. their moviegoing habits would be a thriller/mystery film. To get them to watch my movie I would advertise it. The title size varies but most of the titles are big. social groups are portrayed as having distinct characteristics and power dynamics.

case study

Don’t be a menace to south central while drinking juice in the hood is about how about how Ashtray is forced to move to Los Angelous and then meets his nuclear-armed cousin Loc Dog who introduces him to the crime underworld.

Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood is a parody of several U.S. films about being in the ‘hood,’ for instance, Boyz n the Hood (1991), South Central (1992), Menace II Society (1993), Higher Learning (1995), and Juice (1992). It is a 1990s film about being in the hood inspired by John Singleton’s Boyz N the Hood (1991) film. The main characters Loc Dog and Ashtray were inspired by O-Dog from Menace II Society and Tre from Boyz n the Hood.

This media appeals to its audience as a way to maintain social by discouraging antisocial action. The people in the film are portrayed as people who potentially reinforce negative stereotypes and sometimes act as a call to promote positive behavior. The story is by how we follow Ashtray to the place he grew up from to meet his father and basket-case friends, and a lot of crazy stuff happens. Loc Dog and Ashtray are cousins who interact with the neighborhood’s misfits.

Don’t Be a Menace is a film that went streaming on Apple TV Starz and Amazon Prime in 1996. This film was produced by Keenan Ivory Wayans and Eric L. Gold and was both starring and written by Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans and was a spring-off of the film Menace II Society. The target audience, although not mentioned, the age appropriation was 17 and up based on the maturity level of the film. It was for people between 17 and 30 years old and of some sort of minority and or struggling in poverty. This film isn’t for kids due to the things shown in the film. However, this isn’t a film that elder people would normally watch.

In conclusion, don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood is a 1996 parody film that focuses on popular 1990s urban dramas, particularly “Boyz in the Hood” &” Menace II Society”. The story starts off with a young man named Ashtray who moves in with his father and cousin in South Central Los Angeles. While Ashtray pushes through life in the neighborhood, he faces a series of comedic situations. These situations involved crime, relationships, and the pressure of growing up in a tough neighborhood. This movie was a serious film that portrayed real inner-city life. Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood achieved solid box office success. Domestically grossing over $20 million, towards the end of its theatrical run. During its opening weekend the movie made a total of $8.1 million and an average of $8,032 per theater. Some critics gave it a lukewarm response, reflected in its 31% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie didn't have the best quality so, they struggled with the backlash they got due to the cinematic qualities. Something they did successfully do was convey important life lessons to viewers all around the world. They used the recurring character Keenen Wayans to tell the message throughout the entire film. He was a reflection on how” individuals choose to live their lives, and they need to rethink how they live their lives before it's too late”. This made the film a unique blend of humor and social commentary.
